Modern Poetries

We are open for submissions for the first instalment of our new Modern Poetries anthology series: Cornish Modern Poetries, edited by Ella Frears & Aaron Kent.

Each book in the Modern Poetries series aims to explore the representation of demographics within poetry, and our first book is open to writers with a strong connection to Cornwall.

The anthology is not only open to writers born & raised in Cornwall, but to poets who have or do consider Cornwall home. Whether you were born in Cornwall, raised in Cornwall, or have called Cornwall home at some point, we want your poetry.

Please send no more than 5 poems in a single PDF to submissions@brokensleepbooks.com with the subject line ‘Cornish Modern Poetries submission’. Include a short bio, and a couple of sentences regarding your affiliation with the county of Cornwall.

Submissions close: 28th February 2022.

We aim to respond to all submissions within 6 weeks of the closing date.
