lover / priory by Adrienne Wilkinson is a formally restless and deeply sensuous collection that navigates intimacy, embodiment, and spiritual longing through fragmentary, incantatory verse. Alternating between motifs of sacred ritual and tactile connection, the poems inhabit spaces of ruins, rituals, and relational thresholds, where the language of desire entwines with that of devotion. Wilkinson’s speaker moves between lover and supplicant, between childhood memory and present entanglements, locating holiness in gestures of care and the remnants of architectural and emotional structures. What emerges is a poetics of porousness, between bodies, histories, and landscapes, rendered with tenderness, precision, and a fierce, quiet urgency.
 
ABOUT Adrienne Wilkinson:
Adrienne Wilkinson is a poet and a massage therapist. She studied a masters in Poetry at the University of East Anglia. Her first book, repeating mouths, was published by Broken Sleep Books in 2021. She lives in Norwich.
