Behind the Door, Another moves along estuaries, ferry crossings, and Atlantic seabird cliffs, attending to egrets, krill, and orcas with a naturalist's exactness. Amber Rollinson sets intimate human moments such as moving in with a lover, waiting out a storm, learning what trust costs, against the ecological damage set out by feather-trade extinctions, contaminated apex predators, and seabirds drawn to the smell of plastic. Wry, exact, and unsentimental, the collection treats habitation as something shared between species, and rarely secure.
