For Days on End, Tomi Adegbayibi's debut collection, moves through a single year in four seasonal movements, tracing a life lived between London, Paris, and Lisbon. These poems gather the textures of the everyday, from childminding and a declined bank card to lockdown balconies, medical appointments, and Christmas Eve cooking, and render them with a sensory intensity in which the self dissolves into cloth, wind, and fruit. Beneath this attentiveness sits a sustained inquiry into inheritance: a grandmother's burial, a Yoruba that English cannot fully accommodate, and the uneasy question of what Blackness and home might mean in a European city. What emerges is a diaristic, dreamlike record of days as they are lived, in which memory and the body keep their own time.
